Asiatique the Riverfront Mall hosts 1,500 shops, 40 restaurants and a pinch of culture and learning. Built on the banks of Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River the new Asiatique The Riverfront Mall is located at one of Thailand’s most historically significant trading ports. It refurbishes a number of century old warehouses originally used to house teak for export and created a vast open-air mall.
Many outlets have reincarnated from the popular Suan Lum (Lumpini) Night Bazaar which closed its doors a number of years ago. Stores sell high quality, unique pieces unlike the typical tourist junk found elsewhere in the city.
Restaurants at the Asiatique The Riverfront Mall are a mix of typical mall outlets and a number of unique and exciting bars and eateries. For entertainment the central theatres offer traditional and modern Thai cultural performances at Joe Louis Puppet Theatre and Calypso Bangkok (ladyboy) cabaret show. For more info check their website.
The Asiatique is found along the picturesque Chao Phraya River. Take the Skytrain (BTS) to the pier at Saphan Thaksin BTS station (Exit 2). Asiatique offer a quick boat service from here.
